Interview

The interview

Congratulations, your application has convinced us and we are curious about you as a person and your skills. In a personal interview, you have the opportunity to convince us of your qualities - and vice versa. To help you prepare for the interview, we will give you some insights and answer the most frequently asked questions in the application process.

During the application process

The first interview usually takes place by phone. The telephone interview lasts about 15-20 minutes and gives you and us the opportunity to get to know each other. You can also ask us your most important questions.

If everything is good for both parties, we will invite you to a personal interview on site or, alternatively, virtually via Microsoft Teams. You do not need to create an account for this. Before your interview, you will receive a link that will take you to the meeting on the day of your interview. The interview will last about 1.5 hours and will be conducted by our recruiter and the line manager. The interview consists of a professional and a personal part. Our focus is on getting to know you and finding out whether you can imagine working for us and whether we fit together.

Before your interview, take a look at our career site: There you will find insider tips and information about the interview process. In addition, some knowledge about hema and your future tasks will help you. The culture section is also a helpful tool to learn more about our values and ways of working.

You need a computer or smartphone with internet access as a basis. To ensure good sound quality, we recommend using a computer in combination with a headset. The integrated microphone cuts out background noise and allows us to concentrate on you and our conversation.

Technical tip for Microsoft Teams: Use an up-to-date browser and download the Teams app. The Teams app is also the best recommendation for Apple users. You will receive technical details before your interview.

"Hello, hello, can you hear me?" - this is a question we have all heard many times. To avoid these technical difficulties, make sure your technical equipment works. Test your camera and microphone well in advance of your appointment. Both should be switched on. Because online and offline, first impressions count.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly, you should familiarise yourself with your equipment 10 minutes before the start of the interview.

In addition, the lighting conditions should be right - the room you are in should be nice and bright. Another tip from us: make sure the light source is not behind you, otherwise you will be overexposed and we won't be able to recognise you.

All these are well-intentioned tips. But hey: family members, pets and technical pitfalls - we've all been there and we're only human. And we're happy to get to know you without any pretence!

After the interview on site or via MS Teams, we will invite you to another interview or to a "get-to-know-you" day. On this date, we want to get to know you more intensively, on a professional and personal level. You will also have the chance to meet your future team. You will be invited to this interview by e-mail with a concrete date proposal. Really getting to know you is very important to us. We want you to feel completely at home in your team and to have the right chemistry. That's why question marks from the first interview are resolved.

You can ask yourself the following questions before your interview to prepare:

  • What are the things that motivate you and come easily to you? What do you find difficult or demotivating?
  • What words would your friends use to describe you?
  • What excites you about the task for which a team member is being sought?
  • What exactly is your position within a team?
  • Why are you good at this position?
  • Why exactly this job?
  • What is your enthusiasm for the industry, the task and hema as a company?
  • Name one experience of success that has had a significant impact on you.
  • In which situations were you able to make your competences visible?

There is a lot to do: let's get started and apply.

Procedure of the first interview:

  • In the first part, we inform you about hema in general, your upcoming tasks and the team. We want to give you as transparent an insight as possible into the working world and our corporate culture.
  • Then you introduce yourself and can tell us what makes you tick and what is important to you. After that, we will ask you a few questions about your career, your personality, your characteristics and your way of working. Don't worry, there is no wrong answer. Just be yourself.
  • Then we come to your professional skills. What skills do you already have, what can you still learn? How do you imagine your working environment?
  • Afterwards, there is enough time to clarify your questions, which you can also prepare before the interview. What would you like to know about the advertised position or hema as an employer? We will be happy to answer your questions in detail and take the time to clarify all open points.
  • We recommend that you check out our social media channels beforehand. On Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin or YouTube, you can get a lively glimpse behind the scenes and maybe even catch a glimpse of some of your future colleagues.
